An initiative by Rayo Vallecano involving the organisation of an away bus to Valladolid has caused a quite the stir from fans of the club. The Vallecas club announced during the week that fans could go to Valladolid – bus entry to the game and a bus ticket – for €25. It is not an offer that has been welcomed by a large section of fans.
Different perspective
There had been four confirmed buses by fan groups and many fans plan to boycott the trip organised by the club. Organisers of the buses from the ADRV fan groups have informed Unión Rayo that the club did not contact them before launching the initiative, which further enraged fans. They believe the club knew there were buses planned by the fans.
In addition, the communication with Rayo directors since the fan groups requested more tickets at the price of €15 (At first, they only got 100 of the 500 that were requested). And so, the ADRV platform put on a package deal that would cost member of the Peña €37, season ticket holders €42 and non-season ticket holder €47.
The club did not benefit from the agreement involving the LFP along with AFEPE (Aficiones Unidas). According to AFEPE, the LFP are the ones responsible for paying renumeration fees to reduce the price of tickets. This would see many of the tickets at the low cost €15 and would ensure a good following and atmosphere at the away game.
Rayo decided not to intervene between the Peña and the league and thus did not avail of the extra tickets at the lowered price. Social networks have been abuzz with Rayistas unhappy with what they deem unacceptable behaviour by the club.
They created the hashtag #YoviajoConlaPlataforma, or I travel with the fans or the fan groups.
